Our story
Who we help and what we specialise in
Gear Bros Ltd is run by Ciaran Gear near Welshpool, Powys. We are an air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration contractor working mainly with commercial clients — offices, retail units, pubs and restaurants, server and comms rooms, and industrial premises — alongside a steady stream of domestic installations.
The business is run solely by Ciaran Gear, which is why the person who quotes the job is the person you speak to about it afterwards.
The businesses that call us usually have one of three problems: they need a system designing and installing without losing trading days, they have a breakdown that is costing them money right now, or they have an existing system that has never worked properly since it was fitted. That third category is a large part of our work.
Our specialism is the technical end of the trade: correct heat-load sizing, diagnostics on systems other contractors have condemned, and installations that are commissioned properly rather than switched on and left. Because we cover refrigeration as well as air conditioning, a pub can have its cellar cooling, its front-of-house cooling and its kitchen extract looked at by the same engineer on the same visit.
We work across Welshpool, Aberystwyth, Shrewsbury, Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester, Oswestry, Newtown, Llanidloes and Llandrindod Wells, covering mid-Wales, Shropshire, the Potteries and the North West.
